Dear Mr. Skutnik;
It is my pleasure to nominate Mr. Ronald Gene Whaley for the Jim Quinn Award.
Mr. Whaley has been involved with the sport of beep baseball since 1982. He has
played for the Oklahoma City Bombers. He has served as President and
Vice-President of the Oklahoma City Bombers for numerous years.
He has been chosen for Offensive Player of the Year, and the Sportsmanship Award
by the Oklahoma City coaches for numerous years.
He traveled the State of Oklahoma making speeches at Lions Clubs, Optomist
Clubs, YMCA's, Advocates and Parents of Oklahoma Sight impaired, local
television and radio.
Anyone who will listen, he will fill their ear with the sport of beep baseball.
He firmly believes that the youth is the future for the sport of beep baseball.
He is willing to take extra time to teach the new players how to bat and
field the ball. He is very patient and tenacious with anyone who shows an
interest in the sport of beep baseball.
He keeps a diary on the computer and makes graphs both bar and pie to show how
the Oklahoma team is progressing. He video tapes the games and beep baseball
events.
He has served on the NBBA Board of Directors since 1992. He has served on the
Hall of Fame and Public Relations committees on the National Level.
He has been on the Offensive all Star team for two years on the National level.
Even though Mr. Whaley suffers with arthritic knees now he fully enjoys the
sport of beep baseball.
I firmly believe that Ronald Gene Whaley is a True candidate for the Jim
Quinn Award.
He is a TRUE lover of the sport of beep baseball.
Respectfully submitted,
his number one fan and loving wife,
