Ray set the standard by which all Beep Baseball Pitchers are measured. The pitcher/Catcher award was first issued in 1985 to Vince Crouch (pitcher) and Kathy Quinn (Catcher) of Minneapolis BSF but, Ray dominated the early years of the NBBA with stiff competition from such great Pitchers as, Frank Mathenia, Fort Worth, Vince Crouch, BSF, Buck Steinhauser, Phoenix Firebirds, Jim Capek, Chicago Bluff and others.

Ray Serna was the top Pitcher at the World Series in 1986, 1987, 1989, and 1990. During the high point of the Albuquerque Trusights string of Titles, Rays Catcher was bill McClain. (Can Not be located for information)
